A Company Secretary is a person or firm responsible for ensuring the efficient administration of a company, especially regarding regulatory compliance and implementation of a Company's policies. Secretary means any individual possessing the prescribed qualifications appointed to perform the duties which may be performed by a secretary under this Act and any other ministerial or administrative duties. A company secretary is the legal face of the company. A company secretary's job includes assisting the board of directors, supervising the company's legal matters, representing the organization's interests to the officials in the opposite party, and ensuringthat the company and its directors operate within the law.

Salary/Income of a Company Secretary
At the Entry level, Candidates can earn an average of INR 4 lakhs per annum. With gaining experience, a candidate can earn INR 6 lakhs per annum.

After Clearing the CS Foundation Course, Students must register for the CS Executive course. CS Executive is the second stage to clear CS.
CS Executive Course Exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December. Registration is done on or before 28th February or 31st August, respectively.
During the Executive course, Candidates must complete a nine-month study period to appear for the Executive course exam.
Students will learn about commercial law, company law, general law, tax law, accounts, and audit practice, and securities law.

CS Foundation is the entry-level course the ICAI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) offers.
Students of all ages can apply for the CS foundation course.
CS Foundation Exam is conducted twice yearly, in June and December. Registration is done on or before 31st March or 30th September, respectively.
During the Foundation course, Candidates must complete an eight-month study period to appear for the foundation course exam.
Students will learn about entrepreneurship, management, business environment, ethics, accounting, and economics.
