Computer Enginner

Who is a Computer Engineer?

A computer engineer fuses electrical engineering and computer science to develop new technology. Computer engineers design, build and maintain hardware in modern computers. These engineers focus on integrating hardware and software in a unified system safely and efficiently. Along with personal devices, computer engineers have a hand in creating robotics, networks, and other computer-based systems. This role tends to include much research and development, testing, and quality assurance. Computer engineering might appeal to problem-solvers and technology enthusiasts. Computer engineers work within a team along with software developers and other tech professionals.

Job Responsibilities of a Computer Engineer

  • A computer engineer designs and develops computer systems and other technological devices.
  • A computer engineer creates and tests microchips, circuits, processors, conductors, and other computer device or system components.
  • A computer engineer researches, designs, develops and tests computer systems and components such as processors, circuit boards, memory devices, networks, and routers.
  • Computer engineers often research new technology and methods to create innovative products and solutions.

Career Scope of a Computer Engineer

There are many career options once a candidate completes graduation in Computer Science. Some of the followings are given:

  • Software Companies
  • Banks
  • Public Sectors
  • Government Sectors
  • Armed Forces
  • Colleges and Universities Etc.

Salary/Income of a Computer Engineer

An entry-level Computer Engineer with less than a year of experience can expect to earn approximately Rs. 3,00,000 annually. Computer Engineers with 1 to 4 years of experience can make roughly Rs. 8,00,000 annually.

** What is the difference between a Software Engineer and a Computer Engineer?

A Computer Engineer designs and develops various hardware systems, whereas Both occupations require knowledge and working experience in hardware and software but in varying capacities. A software engineer is an expert in designing software applications through coding; however, a software engineer does not need extensive knowledge about electronics, just as a computer engineer does not require expertise in software design.
