A dentist, also known as a Dental Surgeon, is a healthcare professional specializing in dentistry (diagnosing, preventing, managing, and treating diseases and conditions of the oral cavity). Salary/Income of a Dentist

The salary of a Dentist largely depends upon the standard and level of the organization/Hospital candidate is associated with, especially at the starting level. The starting salary of aDentist ranges from Rs. 4 to 7 lakhs per annum. The experienced Dentist may earn from Rs. 8 lakhs to 11 lakhs per annum.Salary in government hospitals is based on the pay scale and grade decided by the government. However, there is no upper-income limit for enterprising Dentists who opt to open Dental Care Centers.

Register and Qualify NEET( National Eligibility Entrance Exam) for BDS   
  • To get admission into the BDS course, candidates have to register and qualify National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET).
  • National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET) exam is conducted annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in May/June.
  • The candidate should be of 17 years of age at the time of admission.

Enroll for BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)   
  • To become a DENTIST, the candidate should hold a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree recognized by the Dental Council of India.
  • The course duration is five years, including one year of rotating internship.
Go to Internship (Dentist)   
  • After completion of 4years of the BDS program, candidates must complete a one-year paid rotating internship in various departments. During internship and residency, doctors are paid a small salary.
  • Candidates can work under a team of top doctors during their internship. The candidates have a chance to work with patients who require different diagnoses. The candidates must gain good knowledge and skills when completing their internship. 
Register with Dental Council of India for License (Dentist)   
  • After an internship, the candidate must register with the Dental Council of India. To register with the Dental Council of India., the candidate must have a BDS degree and one year of internship. Registering with the country's Dental council is essential to start practicing as a Dentist.
  • After registering with the Dental Council of India, candidates can begin their careers and practice as dentists in India.
