Who is a Fashion Designer?

     A Fashion Designer is a person who creates a specific look from a piece of clothing. This look includes the clothing’s shape, color, fabric, cuts, folding, wrinkles, and other such aspects of the material. A Fashion Designer is someone who designs apparel, like dresses and suits. Fashion Designers are often the head of a design team that works together to create new collections for their brand or company each season. Fashion designers are responsible for developing and designing garments, footwear, and accessories. In addition, fashion designers may be responsible for leading teams of designers or other team members to bring their ideas to life and sell their creations for retail or other markets.

 Job Responsibilities of a Fashion Designer

  • The Fashion Designer’s primary responsibility is to design and make clothing, footwear, and accessories.

Qualify the College/University-Specific Entrance Examinations for Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design e.g (B. Des.) or many more programs   
  • Admission into the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design (B. Des.) course is based on the candidates’ performance in the university-specific examination (if specified).However, it may vary from college to college; check the particular college rules and regulations before applying.

Enroll for Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design e.g. (B. Des.) or many more programs   
  • To become a FASHION DESIGNER, a candidate should hold a graduation degree in Fashion Design such as B. Des. (Fashion Design)/ B.Sc. Design/ Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B. FTech)/ B.A. in Fashion Designing / BSc Fashion Merchandising or enroll in Diploma in Fashion Design.

 

Go for the Internship (Fashion Designer)   
  • During the course, grab as many opportunities for internships or project works as a candidate can. These help the candidate gain insights into the kinds of tasks that can expect to perform in the future.
  • One main benefit of an internship is that it allows students to develop further a portfolio that demonstrates their skills and creative sensibilities.
  • The duration of the internship would be two months.
